Sean Traynor
Education:
I graduated from University of California Santa Barbra with a major in psychology, and a minor in applied psychology. I am currently a student at Alliant International Universities California School of Professional Psychology. I have worked at Y-Team, YMCA of the East Bay and ANKA Behavioral health incorporated as a Psychological Trainee. I also volunteered with Sanctuary Centers of
Santa Barbra and Mental Wellness Centers of Santa Barbra.
My Approach to Psychotherapy:
I draw on multiple theories of psychotherapy in my practice, to tailor my treatment best to your needs. I take a humanist approach, believing in a client-centered approach where I offer understanding, empathy, and care, with an emphasis of free will and self-determination. I also draw on a cognitive-behavioral model, believing that by changing your Automatic thoughts and pathogenic beliefs that you can change unwanted behavior and emotions. A fusion of these models is what I bring to bear on your treatment: unconditional empathy and understanding backed by practical tools to change your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions.
